The Wesley Foundation of Austin (“Texas Wesley”) is the United Methodist campus ministry at The University of Texas at Austin (“UT”). Texas Wesley is an extension ministry of the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church (“UMC”) and has served the students of UT for at least 100 years.
The vision of Texas Wesley is to be a Christian community ministering to all Austin area college students, building up generations of Christians who lead and serve. Our mission is to provide a loving community in which all college students are welcome and through which we can glorify God, exemplify Christ and encourage one another to have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
The current Wesley community includes over a hundred students who are involved in small groups and Bible studies, weekly worship, an active student leadership team, regular outreach to campus, service and fellowship events, and annual mission trips and retreats. Texas Wesley has a healthy Board of Directors, financial support from alumni and our Annual Conference, and benefits from good relationships with local United Methodist churches. The new Texas Wesley facility is located in West Campus, just 2 blocks from the iconic UT Tower.
The Executive Director is a pastor to the student community who provides ongoing preaching and teaching, mentoring and discipleship, care and counseling, and relational leadership to grow and equip students for a life of faith and servant leadership. The Executive Director provides strategic and administrative leadership for the staff, while also developing relationships on campus, in the community, and throughout the Annual Conference that help grow and strengthen the ministry.

  • A conviction that Scripture is our guide for following Christ and growing in faith
  • A gift for articulating both faith and mission in a contagious way through passionate and articulate communication
