The Protestant Cooperative Ministry (PCM) at Cornell University is an inclusive, ecumenical campus outreach sponsored by four cooperating mainline denominations (American Baptist, PC (USA), UCC, and United Methodist).

The PCM Chaplain leads or facilitates the ecumenical PCM student community in worship, study, fellowship, outreach and community-building, pastoral care, and social justice projects.

The Chaplain also has an institutional role in the University that includes active collaboration with other chaplains and organizations affiliated with Cornell United Religious Work (CURW), to offer campus crisis counseling, opportunities for interfaith connection, shared social justice/social responsibility programming, gateways to spirituality and spiritual growth in an increasingly secular world, and occasional participation in campus-wide events under the auspices of the Office of the Dean of Students.

The Chaplain works closely with PCM student leaders, the PCM governing Board, and CURW; oversees a small office staff; shepherds fundraising efforts involving outreach to students, alumni, local churches, and the four sponsoring denominations; and spearheads the use of endowment funds to grow and engage the ministry.

This is a 12-month, full-time position.  Candidates must have a passion for student engagement and campus chaplaincy, and be ordained or eligible for ordination and have privilege of call in one of the partner denominations: American Baptist Churches, PC(USA), UCC, or United Methodist.

Submit letters of interest, resumes and contact information for three professional references to Valerie McAllister-Pratt, vam65@cornell.edu, by April 4, 2022.
