The Campus Minister helps The College of St. Scholastica remain faithful to our Catholic Benedictine heritage, our students’ spiritual lives and the Gospel values and to provide opportunities for students to engage in their own spiritual journeys as a foundation for living value-oriented ethically sound lives.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement opportunities for spiritual practice and spiritual development of students and foster faith communities among students to include: coordinate ecumenical worship and prayer opportunities; provide opportunities for spiritual development through retreats, small groups, and reflection experiences; and be available to meet with individual students who wish to discuss matters of spiritual life and values.
• Along with Campus Ministry Team, provide leadership, vision and direction for Campus Ministry.
• Provide regular opportunities for students to learn about Catholic Social Teaching and use it as a tool for reflection and action. 
• Develop opportunities for students to engage in vocational discernment through meaning and purpose exploration.
• Develop opportunities for students to engage in interfaith education and collaboration across diverse religious perspectives.
• Coordinate opportunities for students to engage in service and social justice efforts which are responsive to Catholic Social Teaching and the needs of students.• 
• Provide resources, guidance and leadership for students to engage in volunteer service.
• Recruit, train and supervise student leaders to provide program support and leadership.
• Recruit students for active participation in campus ministry programs. 
• Be present throughout the College and at campus events (athletics, recitals, plays, concerts) for the enhancement of relational ministry.
• Respond to pastoral needs of students through hospital visits, attendance at memorial services, funerals and/or wakes.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience in a ministry position; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Must understand and value Catholic teaching and practices, and have knowledge of mainline Protestant and non-denominational traditions.
• Ability to work well with students of diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds, including students who do not affiliate with religious and/or spiritual traditions.
• Ability to enliven concern and enthusiasm within college community for our Catholic Benedictine heritage and values.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills required.
• Ability and willingness to make presentations; e.g. presiding/preaching at prayer services, classrooms, workshops, orientations.
• Strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills required in order to effectively interact with faculty, staff, students, and the Benedictine community as well as off campus Duluth community.
• Commitment to one’s personal spiritual growth and self-care. 
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule with regular evening/weekend hours and student service trips and/or conferences.
• Creative, innovative thinking
