POSITION SUMMARY:
The University of Saint Mary is a Catholic university sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. The Campus Minister is responsible for facilitating opportunities for the faith development of all students at the University of Saint Mary and coordinating liturgical services for the community. The minster encourages students to become active members of the faith community through worship, education, service, and community development while providing for the pastoral needs of each person. The minister encourages persons of all faiths to be involved in their individual faith communities. This position is a 10-month position working August 1st-May 31st.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Spiritual Development:
• Develops, plans, and leads spiritual development program for USM undergraduate and graduate students to Articulate their own self-understanding, particularly as it relates to the dynamic of faith, spirituality, and human transcendence.
• Plans and organizes prayer and religious services, plans to celebrate and recognize each liturgical season on a regular basis and for special events to develop a deeper understanding of what the Catholic tradition teaches about what it means to be human.
• Plans and prepares for all liturgical celebrations, including Matriculation, Convocation and Commencement; recruits; trains; and organizes music ministers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, servers, and communion sacristan
• Facilitates ecumenical awareness in the campus community by sponsoring opportunities for students of various faith traditions for worship, prayers, and study
• Proactively relates to students and engages with students with varying or no faith background
• Plans and conducts student retreats each academic year
• Develops, plans, and leads theological reflection, ecumenical and inter-religious activities.
• Coordinates the USM Mission Council’s Faculty/Staff monthly “Living the Mission” awards

Education:
• Develops and implements programs for spiritual development as needed, e.g., Bible scripture studies, small faith communities, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), prayer, and socials, etc. and promote and facilitate dialog with the Christian tradition as it applies to modern society.
• Plans and coordinates ongoing education in Vincentian spirituality 

Service:
• Plans and coordinates faith in action especially through the development, implementation, and coordination of community service projects and alternative break trips
• Creates opportunities for students to engage in service and social justice efforts
• Plans and coordinates community learning service experiences throughout the year

Community Building:
• Develops and mentors student leaders and supervises student leaders in Campus Ministry initiatives to connect their own gifts and abilities to needs of the world that they can meet to bring about the common good.
• Provides pastoral care as needed for the university community.
• Works with Keleher Learning Common & Student Development staff to develop and promote student engagement, involvement, and student success programs and initiatives
• Actively contributes to various university committees and partnerships.

Administration:
• Submits and manages budget, coordinates fundraising to support student programming and alternative break trips
• Submits a written, comprehensive annual report to supervisor no later than June 1
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s Degree in Catholic Theology, Divinity or Pastoral Ministry
Practicing Catholic
2-3 years pastoral experience
Ability to engage in a collaborative style of ministry within an ethnically and religiously diverse university community.
Strong work ethic.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead spiritual reflection.
Strong leadership, planning, supervisory, and communication skills.
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Sensitivity to the need of each individual to be treated with dignity and respect as it relates to diversity in general and the Mission of the University specifically.

Campus Ministers at Boston College promote the University’s Jesuit, Catholic mission by working collaboratively to make available to the whole community opportunities for worship, retreats, service-immersion, and pastoral care.

Campus Ministers assist in the coordination of weekly student liturgies, major University-wide Masses, and prayer services. Campus Ministers also work in partnership on other Mission and Ministry initiatives, as well as other University initiatives, focusing predominantly on the intellectual, social, and faith development of undergraduate students. The role requires the ability to provide both pastoral care and spiritual guidance to students and others in the University community.

Additionally, each Campus Minister maintains responsibility for administering a specific departmental program. A key responsibility for this position is management of the department’s Arrupe International Immersion Program (“Arrupe”). The program introduces students to key tenants of Catholic Social Teaching through a year-long formation process that includes a winter-break trip abroad.

Pertinent responsibilities include developing, improving, and maintaining overall infrastructure for Arrupe; integrating Ignatian spirituality and Catholic Social Teaching principles into programming; establishing and developing relationships with partner organizations abroad; facilitating the recruitment and selection of participants; overseeing the selection and ongoing formation of student leaders and adult mentors (faculty, staff, and graduate students involved in the program); managing program budgets and fundraising campaigns, and supervising two graduate assistants.

       Knowledge base in theology, pastoral ministry, and the social sciences

     Conversational Spanish is preferred

Requirements:
        Campus Minister II: Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field; plus 3 years of post-graduate, ministerial               
                   experience in university/high school campus ministry, or an equivalent experience

       Campus Minister I: Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field; plus some post-graduate, ministerial experience in
                   university/high school campus ministry, or an equivalent experience

      Associate Campus Minister: no related degree or related experience
                 Catholic, with an affinity and understanding of Ignatian spirituality
                 Eagerness to work collegially with colleagues and to engage in professional development
                Strong budgetary, communication, and organization skills, as well as a solid attention to detail

The Baptist Student Foundation (The Found) at Purdue is looking for a Resident Ministry Intern!  This position is currently open for the 2019-2020 school year, yet can be started ASAP!   This is a paid position that includes housing.  The Resident Ministry Intern for Vocational Discernment will oversee all aspects of The Found’s intentional student service - learning living community (The 210 House) and work with students as they seek to understand the implications of God’s call in their lives.

The Resident Ministry Intern for Vocational Discernment (The Resident Intern) will oversee all aspects of The Found’s intentional student service-learning living community (The 210 House) and work with students as they seek to understand the implications of God’s call in their lives.
Responsibilities
The Resident Intern will:
1) Lead weekly 210 House meetings
2) Develop and implement a discipling/discernment process for 210 House residents
3) Foster connections between The Found, local churches, community service agencies and 
Purdue’s Office of Civic Engagement and Leadership to expand students’ service opportunities
4) Assist in planning and guiding local service opportunities and domestic and international 
    “Immersion Encounter” trips
5) Lead weekly small group discussions/Bible studies
6) Help students integrate their learning’s into a deeper understanding of vocation and “call”
7) Be available for counsel and advice as students process their “call”
8) Promote a welcoming environment at The Found’s 200 Russell ministry center
9) Ensure that the ministry center is open and accessible to students and then secured each night
10) Work with the facility administrator to coordinate maintenance and repairs at The 210 House
11) Meet weekly with the pastor and attend meetings of the staff and board of directors
12) Participate in weekly Sunday worship & mid-week Authentic Dialogue/Bible study.

Qualifications and Requirements
The Resident Intern will:
1) Have achieved at minimum a B.A. or a B.S. at an accredited college or university
2) Be a committed follower of Jesus and actively engaged in a growing relationship with God
3) Support the mission and purpose of The Found and agree to all residential contractual and
     covenantal obligations
4) Live among students at The Found’s ministry center  
5) Able to travel internationally for “Immersion Encounter” trips
6) Work under the direct supervision of The Found’s pastor 
7) Be open to have a great time and encounter God in a meaningful, even life changing way. It 
    has become a tradition that The Found’s interns use their learning’s from this experience 
    to better understand how God is calling them.
